Top 5 trends for Spring/Summer 2016-Wallpaper Brisbane
With the chill of winter starting to feel like a distant memory lets look at the top 5 2016 trends that you can use to decorate your home.
Gone are the days of the feature wall! The biggest trend we have noticed here at I Wallpaper Interiors is more people gaining the confidence to wallpaper a whole room.
“People are definitely willing to do all four walls again” says Farrow & Ball’s head of creative Charlotte Crosby.
Another trend that Crosby is championing – wallpapering ceilings – might take a little longer to catch on, but she insists that the effect can be elegant and interesting. We love the surprise you get when you look up and the drama it creates instead of just white paint.
Colours on point for spring 2016: Serenity Blue & Rose Quartz
A recent psychological experiment conducted on behalf of DFS looked at emotions connected with certain colours and revealed that revealed that pink was the colour most associated with feeling content, while blue is linked to feelings of energy and happiness. Bring that into your home or business? Yes please!
Bringing nature into the home is a strong current trend. We can use wallpaper to bring the outside in by using as Elle magazine puts it; granny florals!
As well as using raw, timber effect wallpaper and natural textures such as raffia.
Metal accents and layering of metallics, done well, is a striking trend to incorporate. Think modern bohemian using brass and tainted gold rather than bright silver. Even those who generally shy away from shiny bling can embrace this trend without feeling obvious.
The next season’s hottest shade of dusty pink should be paired with neutral tones such as marble and timber, or with metallics such as copper. Metals are really a key trend this season, as are raw timbers and rattan. These natural textures are all about getting back to basics and then adding accents to layer your space.
